ABOUT
The DJ Armstrong Foundation was Started in loving memory of the Davarie Jahlon Armstrong. Davarie was just beginning to live his dreams. Maturing into the man that he wanted to be. As a student athlete Davariee was driven by a single goal to be the best at whatever he did. A charismatic young man you could tell by his clean cut appearance And how well spoken he was. Davarie a gentleman and a scholar known by his peers. Davarie had a smile that would light up a room when he spoke. Davarie was so much too many, If you knew Davarie he had an influence on your life. Davarie Wasn’t just a student athlete he was a son a brother a cousin a friend.Davarie’s eExtracurricular activities lead him to be a part of Young life, a group that’s inspires today’s leaders. It was a great day when he achieved the Leader ship scholarships from the Black student summit in which the Mayor attended. Davarie was able to go on a HBCU college tour and just this past year he received I’m My Brother’s Keep MB2K Leadership award. This war was for a young man who inspire and lead within their communities. It would’ve been great for him to receive the last award himself but he was tragically taken from us July 11 a month after his 17th birthday Due to Gun violence from his peers . Our foundation wants to provide services tor Youth that share the same drive and Ambitions as Davarie. We believe in the Each One Teach One method and setting our youth up on a path to succeed. In hope of making their communities a better place grow up. Having the opportunity to serve the comprehensive Demographic in whic we live is key. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact in our youth’s lives.
